Organizing solutions, designed with you in mind
What would my life be without organizing…a world full of chaos!!! Lucky for me, organizing has come naturally for me, beginning at a really young age. My journey began as a very young child and I can vividly recall my earliest “organizing moments”. My mom says that I always had a place for everything, but little did she know the future implications (a successful career as a professional organizer) of my innocent actions.
The Wonder Years
As a young girl, I always enjoyed adventure (girl scouts, sleepovers, vacations, day camps, etc) and I was very adamant to preserve these precious moments in scrapbooks and photo albums. I’d organize the pictures neatly in a photo album, narrate each picture with a funny remark or exclamation, adorn the pages with creative lettering, construction paper embellishments, glitter…you name it. When the time came to “show and tell” to family and friends, they were always amazed at my organization and creativity. Little did I know that this was the beginning of a future unknown to me at that time. There are also memories of taking polaroid pictures of my shoes and clothing articles so I could coordinate my outfits and track my clothing inventory, alphabetizing my reading books, arranging my stuff animals, creating a chore calendar and organizing stickers and coloring books. I guess you can say, organizing has always been a part of me and many of these habits (to me they are hobbies) are still present in my “adult life”.
Evolution
It wasn’t until a short time ago, in the midst of organizing a family member’s financial records that a career in professional organization crossed my mind. The stars must have been aligned that month because I was then invited to attend an organizing training seminar which awarded me certification as a Professional Organizer. I immediately began doing market research on the organizing industry and was amazed at the increasing demand for these services from people just like me and you. I was even more shocked to learn that a professional organization known as NAPO (The National Association of Professional Organizers) existed and that they support the growth of professional organizers and exposure to this industry.
